The evolution of the Ultimate 85 transforms into the new
Backland UL 85, a stable and dynamic ski with excellent behaviour in transformed snow and even compact snow.
With a medium width suitable for all terrains, it is the ideal ski touring board to use throughout the year on different slopes allowing us to enjoy the descent whenever possible. Weighing in at just over a kilo and with an 85mm waist it is a very well balanced ski with exit response even on pack snow.
Atomic have incorporated in the construction of this model an ultralight wooden core manufactured from
Poplar and Caruba with carbon inserts. This combination provides minimum weight with exceptional torsion rigidity, assuring precise control and stability. This allows us to save energy both in the ascent and the descent.
The Sidewall construction improves stick to the snow and vibration absorption, all important in lightweight skis, and provide better transmission through the length of the ski. The
All Mountain Rocker in the shovel makes changes in snow easier to deal with and starting a turn is also easier with less effort.
The new
AT Tip 2.0 in the shovel improves the the weight ratio, avoids the tip getting caught on different types of snow when carving the entrance to a turn and allows us to attach climbing skins more efficiently.
It’s medium turning radius makes for a well compensated ski both for crossing slopes comfortably in the climb and when carving turns in the descent.
Features:
